The latest episode of The MacCast (March 10) features the iDevices Dimmer Switch during the show's popular "thing of the moment" segment. 

Frustrated after the hub he used with another HomeKit switch died for the second time, The MacCast host Adam Christianson bought two Wi-Fi Dimmer Switches from iDevices. Besides being HomeKit-compatible while also working with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, iDevices products don't require any hubs or additional hardware. 

"Basically I'm done with hubs," Christianson said. Adding insult to injury, he said, since the hub was broken, he couldn't even remove the other HomeKit switch from the Home app. Instead, he just removed the hub all together.

Christianson installed his iDevices Dimmer Switches in a 3-way setup (switches pair via Bluetooth), and had no issues adding them to HomeKit via the pull-out pairing tab exclusive to iDevices smart switches. 

"So far, I'm very impressed," Christianson said of his new smart dimmers.
